Our commitment for sustainable tourism
On Sunday, April 22nd, 192 countries will be celebrating Earth Day, but we also want to encourage everyone to take steps to honor and respect our planet every day, we are sure that you’ve all lived through Earth Days before, so we don’t need to tell you that Earth Day is a day for people to plant trees, march, sign petitions, participate in beach cleanups, or do whatever they think will best benefit our planet. But Errantis AB do want to encourage all of you in the tourism industry, to also use this Earth Day to make a meaningful pledge toward sustainability.
What is sustainable tourism?
Sustainable tourism has three components, according to the UNWTO:
- Environmental: We must “make optimal use of environmental resources” and help to “conserve natural heritage and biodiversity.” Errantis AB as a touring operator we want to contribute and to actively help, we firmly believe as well our sub-contractors in reducing the amount of water and energy on a daily basis. It is extremely important for us to protect the environment and our engagement is along a very strict guideline and such example can be also seen through our transition process from polluting (Diesel, Hybrid, Gas) toward completely fossil-free vehicles (100% Electric).
- Socio-cultural: Errantis AB respect the socio-cultural authenticity of host/local communities, conserve their built and living cultural heritage and traditional values, and contribute to intercultural understanding and balance. Our goal is to only have a positive impact on the community and environment.
- Economic: Errantis Ab actively contributes to the community’s poverty alleviation. We consistently employ locals and give them fair and stable wages and benefits. We also mainly arrange for local quality food suppliers, services and so on, out-sourcing is not in our DNA.
